Hepaititis A

Hepatitis A is cause by viral infection via contaminated food e.g. seafood.
Most of the hepatitis A infection will develop acute hepatitis, only few cause
will develop severe disease and end up with liver failure

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a virus that infects the liver causing it to become inflamed. Hepatitis B is
infectious and can be transmitted by direct contact with the blood or body fluids
of an infected person.
Hepatitis B carrier has a higher risk of developing cirrhosis and liver cancer.

 

Suggestions for hepatitis B
1) Get enough rest and have balanced diet.
2) Cease smoking and drinking alcohol
3) Avoid over-the -counter medicines that may damage the liver.
4) Regular health check up by your doctor. The tests may include blood test for liver function,
        liver cancer marker, alpha-fetoprotein, and upper abdomen ultrasound etc.
5) If there is liver dysfunction, you should have further health check and consult your doctor 
        for appropriateness of some drugs, such as Interferon and Zeffix.
