Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is a procedure for examinating the interior of the entire colon and
rectum using fibreoptic. The doctor may take biopsy and remove polyps if
necessary.

 

Instruction before Colonoscopy

Notes before Colonoscopy:

Four days before Colonoscopy, all drugs containing iron and cellulose, such as
Metamucil etc. should be discontinued.
One day before Colonoscopy, liquid diet only. For example: soap, congee, soy
milk etc.
For the diabetic patients, please do not taking hypoglycemic drugs and insulin
injections on the test day.
Please consult your doctor before Colonoscopy regarding about method of
taking oral laxative

 

Notes after Colonoscopy:
Due to sedation effect, it is essential to have someone to accompany you home
after Colonoscopy.
