What is hyperchloesterolaemia?

Hypercholesterolaemia is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in
the blood. Cholesterol is an essential element for the maintainence of body
function.
Normally, the body can regulate the level of the cholesterol.
However, the regulation function could be dysfunction sometimes
and causing increase in cholesterol level and lead to the development
of blockage of the vessels.

 

Cholesterol can be devided into good and bad

HDL               Good chloesterol
                       helps to transport to lipid back to the liver

LDL/ VLDL   Bad chloesterol 
                      cause blockage of vessels
