Blood pressure
Blood pressure is the pressure of blood against the walls of the main arteries.
Blood pressure is highest during systole, when the ventricles are contract,
normal should be <140mmHg.
Blood pressure is lowest during diastole, when the ventricles are relaxing and
refilling, normal should be<90mmHg.
Prevent Hypertension
- No smoking
- Have a balance diet
- Eat low fat foods
- Reduce sodium intake
- Limit alcohol intake to two drinks or less per day
- Exercise regularly
- Maintain your body weight
- Rest more and avoid nervousness
- Have a health check per year
